In Memory of Paul Newman

"To be an actor, you must be a child"
- Paul Newman

January 25, 1925 - September 28, 2008

I'm updating this post after hearing David Letterman give the nicest tribute to him the other night. He played a little bit of this priceless footage, showing him volunteering for a "Mythbusters" balloon stunt. (Perfectly illustrating the above quote, too.)

More footage of Paul playing....

  1. I loved him. I will watch my Slapshot DVD today.

  2. Ched, that is one I have not seen -- I'll have to check it out. I have such fond memories of "Butch Cassidy". I think it was one of the first "grown-up" movies I saw.

  3. I have grown up with his movies, but more than anything have always been in love with his admirable humanity and humbleness. A credit to all of us he was! And it was an honor growing up in his lifetime. So long blue eyes!
