Betsy's New Friend

A friend loaned me a fake owl to put on the deck, hopefully to scare hawks and falcons away from the chickens. I don't know if it will convince them, but it's certainly convinced Betsy. Every day she jumps up onto the picnic table and stares at it for ten minutes or more, waiting for it to turn around and notice her.

    Gabriel, our almost 14 month old, is also enamoured of our solar powered owl we have for pests (doesn't work unfortunately). We keep it in the greenhouse and Gabriel asks to see it by saying "Who Who"

    Our dog is suspicious of ANYTHING that is different. Even a blanket over the side of the deck railing provokes protective barking.
