Last night I heard David Isay talk about the founding of the Storycorps project. Storycorps is a national project that encourages people to interview their loved ones on tape, gives them a copy to take home and then archives these recordings in the Library of Congress, and broadcasts them regularly on NPR. I was so impressed by their mission and the outreach they're doing. It made me think about all the lost opportunities I've had to record my grandparents and elderly relatives. The most important message that I heard last night was "Don't wait. Get your loved one's story, and at the end, don't forget to tell them how much you love them." Listen to Danny and Annie Perasa here.
