Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys) has been out there doing his perennial solo thing for years but what's making everyone (well okay, mostly the S man) excited at our house is his new release that CAME OUT ON VINYL FIRST. Isn't that cool? One thing that's regretable about the digital age is the demise of album artwork. It's nice to see it on the screen, but dowloading deprives us of the full hold-in-your-hands album artwork experience, which in this case, is pretty extraordinary. Also unique, a plan for a pre-release audio streaming at more than 50 Gannett media sites.

I agree about the demise of album artwork. Some of it was fantastic! When I think of all the albums I've thrown out in this digital age, I could've had an art exhibit on my family room wall, hanging a collage of those old album covers. Oh, to have them all back ...
