Did I mention that my kids really get into Halloween? (well, make that ANY holiday!) My daughter's birthday falls in early November, so there's often some kind of all-encompassing house party that ends up being thrown despite my vow of "never again" at the conclusion of it each year. Every year marks the purchase of some new creature or ghoul for the yard, and last year we made tombstones that we're hoping survived attic storage. You wouldn't think so if you walked into Michael's craft store, but mid-September is way too early to "come out" with our decorating obsession, so we're trying to limit ourselves to indoor decorating only right now.
I have a collection of dishes in the shape of fruits and vegetables and this is the only time of year that some of them get to come out and play. I have some teapots: a bunny covered pumpkin, a teddy bear covered mushroom, an artichoke and an unusual pockmarked gourd.

I have very small pumpkins like that with candles in them. You can't buy them in Australia, my husband kindly got them for me when he was in either Canada or the US. I may go put them out, it is spring though, but usually I just ignore that lol.
I love autumn, and am with you on the decorating. Fall seems like it goes by so quickly, so might as well get every day out of it that you can. Plus the decorations make the house seem cozy, don't they? Thanks for the nudge, I'm headed to my storage closet now!
Oh, it's great to get all the Halloween things out! It's just that by Christmas, my enthusiasm for getting out/packing up wanes a bit . . .
