It was such a monumental and historic election! I was so happy to be a part of it, you too I see.

Love your video! It's 3 days after the election and I'm still flying high with optimism. Because I live 12 miles from the White House I'm probably going to the inauguration, just as an average citizen peeking at the parade from behind huge crowds. I took my little kids in 1992 and it was great, even though we didn't see much because there were so many people. Can you imagine how huge the crowds will be on Jan 20?? Again, LOVE your video.

Tina, I am still recovering 4 days later. What a week.

Thanks,Pam. It was a good lesson for my daughter: "Don't dare mom to do anything you might be embarassed about later"

I'll be thinking of you on inauguration day - how great that you live so close! The volunteer group I worked with is talking about chartering a bus!

While I worked at the Athens Olympics in 2004, a US coach sat next to me during track&field competition one evening. Finding out I was from Croatia, he asked me what I thought about Americans, as - to his surprise - he could feel much anti-American sentiment at the Olympics. I responded: "A better question would be what I thought about your President. But, don't worry, I know that with such a turnout you have (often even as low as 25%), sometimes only 13% of the population actually decide. And as we also used to have a dictator for President, and I didn't vote for him, and I most certainly didn't feel he represented me, I never judge the whole nation by its president and his policy." Athletes sitting around us smiled, nodded and gave me thumbs up, but he wasn't too happy (maybe he was a Republican). Still, he was very polite and thanked me for honesty.
Now, after this election, I am so happy for you!!!! I hope that the situation will change and improve soon, and with it your country's image ! After your 1992 election, a friend from LA said: this is like a breath of fresh air! Your situation today might lead to forest air around waterfalls!!! And if this election had taken place before the Beijing Olympics, maybe that coach could have had totally different conversations with someone there.
