Exploring Bluefield Farm

On Saturday, a few of our garden club members visited Joy Macy’s beautiful Bluefield Farm in Blauvelt. Joy had generously offered to divide many of her healthy plants for the sale coming up on Saturday. When we were done digging, she showed us around, starting with the gorgeous shade perennials planted near the house.

Lots were in bloom.

Look at the cool staking set up for the pea plants.

We got an up close look at the animals too – especially the male cashmere goat Dilly. What a sweetheart...

There are about 40 chickens ranging around happily. Six chicks are incubating and will join the flock in a few weeks. In the coop, a few peeked out from nesting boxes.

Sigh…..sights like this make it hard to leave.

Look for some of Bluefield Farm’s plants at the Garden Club of Nyack plant sale on Saturday.

Safe a virtual spot for me!

Dilly is a perfect name for a goat and Bluefield is a lovely name for a farm. What a lovely place!

I'd be there in a heartbeat if I could!

Oh I want to go on that swing, feel the breeze as I lazily swing, then settle into one of those Adirondack chairs with a hot cup of fresh coffee. What a beautiful farm.

How fun!!!

I put in my garden today. In fact, late this afternoon. Tells you the size of the plot, huh?

LOL.

Hey Anon - I did get your comments asking about a photo of the barn. I went back to see if I had taken any, but I didn't :-( I'll be sure to take some next time I visit - hopefully soon!
