Grapes are hard enough to grow without putting them in a container. What was I thinking? Well, I know what I was thinking. I was thinking that in September I'd be able to sit on my planter bench, reach overhead and pluck off a luscious bunch of Concords for dessert. My cousin Brandon who is in the Army and stationed in Germany (and thus knows about all spirits European) asked me what kind of roots I had and informed me that all grapes grown in Europe have American roots now. Who knew? Anyway, these don't seem to be climbing very vigorously or flowering and producing much more fruit, but there are a few nice bunches close to the base here. I'll have to do some reading up on grapes, I suppose.
