Tree Swing

The new swing is a blast, but it was a challenge to hang -- the whole family had to get involved. The trees in our backyard are pretty tall, so the hardest part was getting the rope over the INTENDED limb. There were rope burns and flying rocks that almost hit the dog. There were near falls resulting from tipsy throws atop a step ladder. One of our intended limbs cracked as soon as weight was applied and another proved itself to be too close to the trunk. After 2 hours of pitches and pulleys, we finally got it hinged.

As much as we love it, our beloved horsey swing will never be put out to pasture.

I like the way you capitalized INTENDED. I can just see all the other limbs that caught that rope. But just think, 2 hours of pitches & pulls, a lifetime of memories! (I'm with you on the horsey; I'd keep it there forever too :) )

I remember a similar horsey swing from many years ago; I'm sure it's still where it was . . .

I used to have one of those disk, rope swings! I absoultely loved it. My dad used to make tons of them to give away to friends and family because we had so much fun with it.
