Garden of Princely Paisley Delights

Or you might want to call it "Garden of Jen's Geeky Ideas"....

So it didn't take very long (less than an hour!) to get the correct guess. It came from Lorilee at Cackleberry Cottage. She won the book! But Karen from Greenwalks impressed me by knowing the full name of our hero, who is also known as The Purple One, the Minneapolis Genius, Alexander Nevermind, the Slave, the Symbol, the one and only

PRINCE ROGERS NELSON!Here is the way he looked when I first became a fan. These were the Purple Rain days. Johnny's is selling a variety of carrot called "Purple Rain" this year. It is purple on the outside and orange in the middle. I didn't put it on my list because I thought it would make the guessing too easy. I did order it, though. When I moved to New York City and met the S. man, this is the album that was popular, Sign of the Times. "Housequake, "Dorothy Parker," and "If I Was Your Girlfriend!" This has always been my favorite Prince album. "Adore" was the first dance at our wedding.
But if that's not your thang, there are a couple thousand more tracks available to choose from.

Enjoyed the music-related contest, much fun. Maybe you can "plant" some more in future posts? Can't wait to see your Purple garden in bloom! Nice tribute.

I've been looking around and catching up. Love how you planted your seeds. Very clever to use the paper rolls. I think I'll use newspaper all rolled up.

Fascinating story on how you met your hubby.

Prince! Remember when he was just a symbol?!

Brings back memories, I might have to get my Purple Rain movie out to watch. One of his favorite songs of mine is When Doves Cry. And congrats to the winners!! I am going to tell you at Blotanical, but thought I would here too since I am here-thanks!

omigosh! I can't believe I guessed right. It was just a "feeling" My sweety would laugh that I guessed a Pop singer. I have gone more to the country side since we were married! But, I was big on the Pop scene in the 80's! Thank you for the contest!
Blessings,
Lorilee

Joanne, glad you like to talk music. (I fondly remember your post about the concert ticket stubs!)

Anna, welcome back. I haven't planted the seeds yet, but they are on order. I guess I shouldn't be in such a hurry since the snow didn't even melt yet. Did you ever get any?

Tut, LOL - the "Symbol" ,and The Artist Formerly Known As" - he's really evolved.

Tina, "When Doves Cry" is also one of my favorites. Do you remember the video? Hot stuff.

Lorilee, what are your favorite country acts? I'm a bluegrass fan, too. Are you?

Edward, "Dorothy Parker" is playing on my site right now! I was going to take it off today, because I'm planning to post a video soon, but I will leave it us with a manual start so you can hear it. Also, will try to put "If I was Your Grilfriend" up too.

Vaguely, about a woman crying I think due to some 'pressures'.

I think my favorite prince album is Around the World in a Day. I lost all that vinyl. Where did it go, I had all the Prince.
